When to see a Women’s Health Physiotherapist
A women’s health physiotherapist has additional qualifications so that they can treat any dysfunction of the pelvic floor and pregnancy related conditions. Common complaints include:
Bladder or bowel symptoms such as:
Leakage with coughing, sneezing or running
Increased urge to go to the toilet with or without leakage
Increased frequency of toilet stops
Prolapse symptoms such as heaviness, a bulge or dragging below
Musculoskeletal complaints such as:
Pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain
Pregnancy-related back or neck pain
Abdominal separation
Carpal tunnel and wrist pain – De Quervain’s syndrome
Coccyx pain
Rib pain
